The Meris botnet is a global network of infected routers that launches high-volume DDoS attacks. It gained notoriety for its ability to send a massive amount of requests per second, making it a potent threat, particularly to banks, financial services, insurance companies, and various websites and applications. Besides DDoS attacks, the botnet can be used for other malicious activities, including sending spam emails, stealing data, generating false ad clicks, and mining cryptocurrency without consent.
