Cyberattack Hammers Korean Banks, Broadcast Nets

A computer virus worked its way through the systems of three banks and three TV networks in South Korea Wednesday, raising suspicions that it was North Korea’s handiwork. No evidence implicating Pyongyang has been found, but the attack does point out the need for redundancies and backups within organizations, and raises questions about what would have happened if critical infrastructure had been among the targets.
