Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Working with cutting edge technology centered on many-core processors and advanced parallel processing techniques, Corero is recruiting talented and motivated software engineers into its dynamic research and development team to work on its next generation of network security products.

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the overall architecture definition, design and implementation of Corero next generation security products
  • Hold responsibility for the successful implementation of agreed elements defined by product requirements documents
  • Implement new software features and capabilities in both existing and new products
  • Deliver strong contribution to Corero intellectual property and software assets
  • Support products throughout the product life cycle

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Knowledge of real-time software design
  • Experience of embedded system software development
  • Skilled in using multiple languages including C, and operating systems including Linux
  • Thorough understanding of network and application protocol operation (TCP/IP, file, web, transaction, peer-to-peer, and streaming media)

Highly Desirable Experience:

  • Experience implementing networking or network security products
  • Knowledge of implementing protocol stacks, decoders and state machines
  • A background in network security topics such as vulnerability exploits, anti-virus, VPNs and cryptography
  • Good communication, presentation and design documentation skills

Aptitude, Education and Experience:

  • Desire and capability to contribute across the overall R&D function
  • A broad awareness of the tools, techniques and technologies used in the creation and maintenance of real time networking products
  • 8+ years of experience with the required elements listed above
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or similar
